Untitled #1
Consisting of an old circuit bent drum machine, 2 transistor radios and a standard mixer, this set-up captures the electro-magnetic frequencies emitted by the chip of the drum machine and transforms them into sound. The transistor radios are used to drive the electricity (they're both turned off, just used as conductors/pick ups) and their outputs are plugged into the mixer.
The outcome is a pure, high pitched, rhythmic sound based on the pre programmed patterns that the drum machine's internal chip is putting out.
I have used this set-up on the following concerts:
20.10.10 / arar x Adam Asnan / Galvanized Festival / Cafe OTO / Dalston
13.10.10 / arar x Adam Asnan / Entr'acte / The Drop / Stoke Newington
06.08.10 / arar / Narcissus Trance / E:vent Gallery / 92 Teesdale Street / Bethnal Green
26.08.09 / solo / Noise=Noise / The Foundry / Old Street
ARAR x Adam Asnan, live at The Drop (13-10-10). Recorded by Simon Whetham
Solo, live at The Foundry, August 2009
